Mike Davis could be the on the move again.The former men's basketball coach has been at Texas Southern the past two seasons but is headed to Florida to coach Jacksonville University, according to a pair of reports.Citing sources at the Final Four, Houston Defender Sports Editor Max Edison sent out the following Tweet this past weekend:
Reports from sources at the Final Four, TSU b'ball coach Mike Davis is headed to Jacksonville to accept a job there as head coach.-- Max Edison (@itsmaxedison) After a six-year stint at Indiana, including a trip to the national championship game in 2000, Davis coached UAB from 2006-2012. He guided the Blazers to three NIT appearances and a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2010-2011. The Alabama native and University of Alabama product has been at Texas Southern the past two years. He's posted a 36-29 record, winning the SWAC title and earning a bid in the Big Dance this season. Jacksonville went 12-18 this past past season and hasn't reached the NCAA tournament since 1986. The Dolphins lost in the second round of the NIT in 2010 and fell in the second round of the CIT in 2011.
