A citizen of Baltimore, Maryland was sentenced to 10 years in prison today for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition which the defendant tried to keep hidden in a building located in Baltimore downtown.

According to convicted plea agreement, Malick Green of thirty years old, was arrested on March 12, 2012 after Baltimore City Police detectives observed him moving suspiciously around 1800 North block of North Broadway in Baltimore, then enter through an alley to the rear yard of the 1812 Register Street building.

Then he went to the basement and placed a metallic object and walked away when he was detained by the Baltimore City police agents. After came back to the basement in Register Street, Baltimore officers found a.45 caliber hand gun, loaded with six round of ammunition.

Due to previous conviction for a drug felony Green was prohibited to carry firearm and ammunition. The sentenced was issued by US district judge, William D. Quarles, who also imposed on him three years of supervised release after serving his term in prison, said the US attorney for the district of Maryland, Rod J. Rosenstein.

In the work investigation intervened agents of the Baltimore Police City, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms; Explosives Baltimore Field Division and Baltimore City Attorney.
